Halo from my island of Efate! (July 8, 2018)

Dear Famle blong mi we mi luvem tumas!

It’s a delight to read your letters. I feel your love. I am so grateful for you. This week has been a great week in my country of Vanuatu…

LIttle experience…

This week we experienced a miracle. Six people who we are teaching came to church on Sunday. My heart leaped with Joy as I turned around in my seat to see mama Thelma, Nepina, Brian, Annie, Sebastian, and Richie all attending church, showing their faith, on the path to come closer to Jesus Christ. Later we storied with mama Thelma and asked her about her experience. She said that she felt glad that she had come and she loved how the mamas and the papas all participated in the meeting. It wasn’t just one man preaching the entire time. She told us that she thinks she want to become a member inside of the Jos Blong Jisas Kraes blong ol lata-dei sent one day. We also had the pleasure of teaching a mama named mama Esline. She is the mama of a member named Frazier inside of our ward. Frazier is working on his mission papers right now. We got to share about the Plan of Salvation and explain to mama Esline how she can be with her family for time and all eternity. The spirit was strong and I felt happiness inside of my heart.

Also questions…

I am working on learning how to be a better listener. I realize that listening to the spirit, especially the subtle promptings and acting on these promptings, are vital to becoming a good listener. What are your thoughts concerning listening, especially in missionary work and discerning people’s questions? Sometimes I’ll listen to questions and won’t really understand what’s being said. I’m really trying to work on this though… thoughts?

I LOVE YOU

Momma: I am wonderful! People in Vanuatu play football (AKA soccer). Answering questions… Dew Ket (Duquette.) The oneders… They are wonderful! I love them so very much! They are very focused on helping souls come closer to Christ. I love them both. They are exactly what this mission needs right now. We each got to meet them individually (They are doing this with all of the islands.) I admire them already. Also I’ve been listening to the jump drive with all the beautiful music. It brings the spirit so strongly into my life. Thank you! Also the rule on the music now is that we can listen to anything that will be edifying and uplifting. So… would you please send the choir music you talked about please that daddy recorded? and the christmas choir music? and well anything uplifting and edifying that invites the spirit! I love you so very much momma! I’m so happy you had such a wonderful week. I love you!!

Daddy: Buenos Dias Papa Blong mi!!!! Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Moooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooorning. My day is wonderful. Cold season is here with full force but hints that summer will sneak around the corner dance in the Vanuatu air. Happy Birthday Grandpa Bill in a few days. I am no longer the first Carter in the pacific. July 11th is a day that changed my life for the better. I will live and breath in every moment. Thank yiou for your brilliance. I look forward to the day that I get to hear your song and today I will work hard and enjoy the crashing ocean waves so I can tell you about them when we listen to your song. I love you so very much daddy! Have a wonderful week!

I love you all! Thank you for all of your prayers

I love you!!
Love,
Sista Carter
